Yesterday, Savannah had a VCRG. She was sedated, so it wasn't as awful as it could have been but it was still really hard and scary for her and for me. The nurses were so nice and most of the time we were able to keep her attention on some toys and keep her calm by talking her through it. They had some trouble with the Catheter because her anatomy is different, but she was so brave. I am very proud of her!
This morning, we went to find out the results and what the plan is from here. I was so excited when her doctor told us, she doesn't have to have surgery!! Her urologist was very surprised that she does NOT have kidney reflux. But, she does have vaginal reflux, but that can hopefully be fixed by having her sit on the potty backwards so she can empty better.
She will have to take an antibiotic daily for 6 months and also Miralax. She has some problems with her bowls, which can be part of the cause of her UTIs. I won't go into the goriness of it. lol, but it is very , very painful for her to go. We are also waiting for results to find out whether she has a UTI right now. So, to sum it all up, we just have to get her healthy again and out of this repetitive UTI circle.
Thank you everyone for all of your love and prayers! We are so blessed!
I am so happy that she doesn't have to have another surgery. Potty training is hard enough but you have so many other things to deal with it will be a miracle if it does happen. But it won't be the first miracle you've seen. :)
