I Love Being a Mother

Having children changed my life forever. I love each of my children unconditionally. I'm not the perfect mother, however, far from it really. But, I wouldn't trade my life for the world, because even if I'm not perfect, my life is pretty darn perfect just the way it is! With my loving husband by my side and my two wonderful kids I feel pretty blessed!

Yes, my life as a mother of special needs children isn't always easy, in fact it's pretty hard. So, yes, I am like a crazy person, juggling a whole lot of therapies and doctors appointments for my children. But, I am so lucky to have all of these amazing doctors, teachers, and therapist who have become my friends, who really care about me and my family. My children teach me so much and are great examples each and every day and I get to be a part of their beauitful little worlds! That is pretty amazing to me! I have met so many inspiring and good people, who I never would have met!

I love being a mom!! I love all of the little things! Like, sitting on the kitchen floor hitting buckets with kitchen spoons with my kids and singing songs, again and again! I love playing hide the treasure chest with Savannah as she hides it in plain sight but, is so excited when we find it, even for the 8th time. I love making stars and flower shaped peanut butter sandwiches and fruit and watching their faces light up full of glee! I love driving down the read singing along with the radio and Savannah at the top of out lungs This Kiss, by Faith Hill! Even though Xander is a cute little monster, I actually, love taking pictures of all of the naughty things he does! I love cleaning the kitchen while Savannah and Xander have their little mini cleaning kit out, Xander trying to sweep and Savannah emptying the silverware into the drawer in her own little organized way! And, I love it when they make each other laugh! It is the most sweetest thing. I love how when Court comes home Savannah has to have him chase her and Xander around the kitchen island, and they just laugh and laugh! And, I love it when Savannah gives Xander, "Many Kisses" and hugs good night! It just makes my heart melt! I love being Savannah and Xander's mom!

Dying Easter Eggs

Savannah has been so excited to color Easter eggs all day!! I was so sad about Xander being sick AGAIN, and not really being able to do all the Easter crafts and stuff with everybody, but then, I decided that we would just do them all by ourselves, so this is the first of the many Easter post!!

This is favorite picture of Court with the kids! It's so cute!!!Xander pretty much doesn't let me put him down. Poor guy! But, he is doing so much better today!!

Some very sweet person Easter Egged our house! Thank You!! Savannah had so much fun finding eggs to put into her basket! It really made her day!! And, it is good that you put how many there are to find because, it took us a while to find the last 4. Crazy, I know!
Thank you!!

Savannah really loved making YELLOW eggs! LOL! So Savannah!
One cracked, so we had to eat it!
She is so happy with her pretty, (Many Colors) eggs!! And, poor Xander didn't like that I put him down.
So, I held him again.

Elder Rasband - Special Needs Children and Giving Service - LDS General ...

These last few months have been really hard for me, and especially this last week. When I heard this talk yesterday during Conference, it was an unanswered prayer of comfort for me.

For Court and I our uncharted and life changing journey began when our sweet Savannah was born to us and then again with our precious Xander. Our family has been blessed with two very special spirits. They teach us special lessons each and every day. It conforts me that we are blessed with the Gospel and Heavenly fathers plan so that we can turn to him. Sometimes it can be hard and I just have to be reminded of the Eternal perspective. Sometimes our prayers are answered in unexpected ways.

John Chapter 9
That the works of God should be made manifested in him.

Every day I see this in my children. They teach us faith, patience, gratitude, charity, and unconditional love. And, just as Elder Rasband said, "We have had endless hours of intense emotions, tears of empathy, and the prayers and expressions for dear ones in need."

We have witnessed the Savior's pure love which he has given and shown our children and our family. The Lord has given us strength and many more blessings. Our family has learned that we are surrounded by countless earthly and Heavenly ministering angles. Some have been there more than willing to watch Savannah or Xander for us while we took the other to an appointment, or surgery, a caring doctor or nurse, a neighbor who brought us dinner, a loving Grandmother or sister-in-law, a sweet friend there to listen and cry with, a caring teacher, a family's prayer. We are more grateful than words can say to all of our angles. When our trials are heavier or seem endless our ministering angles help make them lighter and help us carry on with hope and joy in our hearts, as we are reminded of our Saviors love.

Once Upon a Time/ Adversity

I love this quote! I really needed to hear this. It is so true in our lives. Through Adversity , although at the time I might think why me? Why do I have to face such hard and painful trials that sometimes no one can understand? Why do my children have to face these trials and have so many along their road yet to come? But, I just have to stop and think, these trials are specifically made just for me. Heavenly father wouldn't have given me these trials if he didn't think I couldn't handle and make it through them. He gave them to me because I have something to learn from them. They will make me a better person and gain the wisdom that I need to become closer to him. They will make me more humble and a more understanding and Patient person and mother. Being a mother is the greatest blessing in my life. I have been able to become stronger through my obstacles, taking them day by day. And, my husband and I have experienced much joy that has come in our lives, especially when we take the time to be there in the moment with our children. There is no greater joy than when they accomplish the simple things that others might take for granted or when they look us in the face and smile or laugh! When they give us a hug or say I love you, that over powers any number of the hard days. Those are what make any adversity worth fighting through.
